Daffodils

Papertrey Ink's Year of Flowers has been a wonderful series. I only bought a few of the sets and this Daffodils set is one of them.
I'm trying to make some one layer cards and I thought this set would be perfect for them. I stamped the large daffodil in Memento Rich Cocoa on pale green card stock and very lightly colored around the edges of the flower, stem and leaves, just enough to highlight them. The daffodils stamp is part of the set and just adds the right touch.
All in all a very simple but pleasing card.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Dot Spots

I've been fascinated with this Dot Spots set from Papertrey Ink ever since I first saw it. I just never knew how I would use it or if I would use it.
Well I finally took a chance and got it. I needed to make some cards for a friend and I thought this might be one she would like.
I stamped the different sizes in different colors on Fresh Linen card stock from Papertrey. When I ordered the Dot Spots set I also ordered the Mat Stack 2 Collection with the co-ordinating Die. Using the same Fresh Linen card stock I cut out the Mat Stack 2 and stamped it with the dotted stamp from the set. I realized that the stamps from the All Booked Up set would fit in the center beautifully.
I really like how this card turned out hope you do also.
Thanks for stopping by.

Some More Tissue Usage

I wanted to use up more of the tissue I have and so here's two more cards.
This time I went for a lighter, brighter color scheme using Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky on the crumpled tissue.
I then stamped the Church from Stampabilities in blue and using an old technique that my friend Sandy hates, I tore each of the edges and smudged them with Distressed Ink
Simple and quick cards to make. Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by

Tissue, Tissue, Tissue

I'm sure like me you've all had more than enough tissue paper usage over the holidays.
I've been in a creative funk since I finished up my Christmas gift packets and I just couldn't come up with any ideas. So I did what any smart crafter does and started putting stuff away and then looking at magazines and blogs for ideas.
So while I was putting stuff away I folded up a ton of tissue paper while thinking there must be some way to use it. Then I went to Stamp TV and watched a few of their videos for ideas and then went looking at the blogs of the Papertrey Ink Design Team.
The above cards and the cards I'll post tomorrow are the results. I took my glue stick and rubbed it all over the front of the card base, I took some tissue paper and crumple it up first the smoothed it out (somewhat) onto the gluey surface of my card. Using an idea from Gina K on Stamp TV I rubbed three shades of Tim Holtz's Distressed Ink over the tissue (Scattered Straw, Brushed Corduroy and just a little of the Frayed Burlap).
I stamped the trees from the Papertrey Ink's Through the Trees set in Memento Rich Cocoa and then after cutting and embossing the images out with Nestabilities I sponged some of the Distressed Ink around the edge. I just added a couple of small brown brads at each end and I was done.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.
